Marvel fans have been anticipating the release of a new anti-hero Netflix series.
And the streaming company gave fans just what they wanted by debuting the first full-length trailer for Marvel's The Punisher on Wednesday.
Jon Bernthal, 40, will be playing the vigilante comic book character Frank Castle -also known as The Punisher - in the new series.
The Netflix show will follow Jon's character as he takes revenge on the people who are responsible for the death of his wife and kids.
The full length trailer gives the audience about a two minute look inside all the blood and violence that will be featured on the show.
Besides taking vengeance on the people who murdered his family, Frank Castle starts to uncover other dark secrets that run deep in New York City.
Netflix keeps the mood suspenseful by ending the trailer with multiple machine guns and explosions, as a short cutaway reveals the Punisher pinned at gunpoint.
The Punisher features other actors such as Ben Barnes, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Amber Rose Revah and Daniel Webber.
Jon revealed to Men's Journal that keeping in shape for the role of the Punisher is not as easy as people may think.
The Walking Dead Alum said: 'It’s pretty all-encompassing, man. I’m on it pretty hard.
'If you’re playing a character like Frank Castle, it may not necessarily be all about aesthetics, but he needs to look a certain way.'
He continued: 'For me the training is more about being able to hang when it comes to doing the fight or combat scenes. I think it is important to be able to keep up with the character in a lot of ways.'
The actor ended with: 'I wanted to learn as much as I can.'
The series is a spin-off from Marvel's Daredevil, which Jon appeared on as the Punisher in season two in 2016.
The Punisher has been portrayed on the big screen by three different actors: Dolph Lundgren in 1989, Thomas Jane in 2004 and Ray Stevenson in 2008.
Although no confirmation of a specific release date, the new Netflix series will debut in 2017.
